I’ve been a subscriber to Ruby Tapas for quite a while. After falling far behind the release schedule, I recently watched lots of episodes in a row, which made me want to publicly recommend the series to others.

Ruby Tapas is a series of short, focused screencasts by Avdi Grimm. Each episode is typically 2-5 minutes long, so you never need to break them into multiple viewings.

Often, Avdi will explore a topic over the course of several episodes, for example value objects. But many episodes are standalone to explain some useful feature of Ruby, for example the grep method.

The subscription fee is $9/month and a new episode comes out twice a week. There is a discussion forum for subscribers where you can discuss the content with Avdi and other subscribers.

Warmly recommended for both beginners and experienced Rubyists.
